Due to the Government's Draconian measures relating to the COVID 19 virus we cannot go about business as usual at Triune MMA but, if we are willing, we can still do some things to stay in shape and not fall completely off the wagon. Below I will put forth some ideas to keep us training... albeit in a modified way, but first:
Membership Payments
We are a small Martial Arts gym and community in a smallish town. In order to provide an excellent facility with excellent training, I (Bretto) have given myself wholeheartedly to the cause. I have loan payments for the factory as well as other overheads and I spend a vast majority of my time and resources to hone my craft in order to provide high level training. I have lived enough life (from being a drugo street kid, to a Christian missionary, to an aged Pro MMA fighter/coach with a family to look after) to know that I will find a way through any storm life throws at us. When it comes to Triune MMA though, if we want to keep this thing, I will need those who are able, to work with me in this strange season.
If you haven't lost your job or business from this COVID mayhem, I would ask that you'd consider continuing your membership. As I said, below I will put forth some ideas to keep our training up, that comply with Gov guidelines. If enough people continue their membership we should still have a gym to train at after all this is over.
Can you all please email me today or tomorrow (Saturday) and indicate that you do wish to 'continue' your membership or that you wish to 'not continue'? If you are happy to continue, please email [email protected] with your name (and/or your child who trains) and copy and paste this statement:
"I agree for you to continue deducting from my account the current amounts being deducted, using my existing direct debit authority".
If you are on 'cash in advance' payments, please text me whether you want them continued or paused.
What We Can & Can't Do
Can't - Train at the gym, have contact, be closer than 1.5m, do contact BJJ, sparring.
Can - outdoor bootcamp exercises (10 at a time), possible boxing in the car park (I'm working on pad holding sticks to keep distance), upload technique drills for at home, PTs and semi PTs at your place or in the park, Hill sprint sessions
Proposed Training Methods
This may only last a few weeks, or it could go for months, so I will continue to work with members to support your training goals. Some ideas are:
Outdoor Boot Camp: up to 10 peeps can do circuit, bodyweight, boxing pads (modified) etc
Uploading Solo Technique Drills: I can post solo BJJ, boxing, Muay Thai drills to do at home
PTs and Semi PTs: I can do Private and semi private sessions at your house or outdoors
Hill Sprints: we can meet as a team a few times per week to hill or stair sprint
I'm open to ideas too.
Also, you are welcome to do some make up classes when we are back to normal.
Thanks,
Bretto
